Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy Offers Option to Better Prepare Students for First Grade

Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy (OVCA) is actively enrolling students for a new Transitional First (T-1) program launching in August. The personalized program is designed to address the needs of students who are not ready to move forward with the tasks and speed required by first grade curriculum and have been recommended for kindergarten retention.

Collinsville fifth-grader Charles Gillenwater is among nine Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy (OVCA) students who received awards of excellence in the Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) contest. Charles placed in the top 20% of students who participated.

Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy to Celebrate 2023 Commencement

Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy is holding an in-person commencement ceremony to honor the achievements of its 2023 graduating class. The ceremony is on May 20 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Edmond, OK. A live stream of the ceremony will be available on the OVCA Facebook page.

Broken Arrow Sisters Sweep School Spelling Bee

Two sisters from Broken Arrow advanced to a semi-regional competition after demonstrating exceptional spelling skills in their recent school spelling bees. Kesinu Ehimika, a fifth grader, claimed the top prize in the elementary school division, while older sister Ayiba Ehimika, an eighth grader, won the middle school division.
