OVCA Student Earns Perfect ACT Score, Joins Nation’s Top 0.2%

Stories & Spotlights
OVCA student Krista Bader with her perfect ACT score

When Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy (OVCA) senior Krista B. sat down to take the ACT this summer, she knew the hours of study and preparation would pay off. What she didn’t know was that she’d walk away with something few students ever achieve — a perfect composite score of 36.

Krista’s accomplishment puts her in an elite group, as less than 1% of high school students nationwide earn the top score each year. For her, though, it’s about more than a number.

“A lot of work went into preparing for the exam, and I’m beyond excited about the result I achieved,” Krista said. “OVCA gave me the freedom to focus on subjects when needed and move ahead in others, which helped me balance ACT prep with regular classwork.”

That balance has also allowed Krista to pursue her passion for robotics, where she has spent the past several years competing at the national and international level. In between competitions, she shares her knowledge by tutoring students in ACT, SAT and calculus.

OVCA Head of School Audra Plummer says Krista’s success is the product of discipline and curiosity.

“Krista approaches every challenge with determination and consistency that set her apart,” Audra said. “She shines both academically and in her extracurricular activities. We’re so proud to celebrate her success!”

Looking ahead, Krista plans to study computer science after graduating in spring 2026. While her perfect ACT score is a milestone, it’s just one chapter in a story defined by ambition and the willingness to take on big challenges.
