Celebrating Ms. Janelle Cox, Recognized as Teacher of the Year!
We are overjoyed to share some exciting news with our OVCA community: our very own high school English teacher, Ms. Janelle Cox, has been honored as the District’s Teacher of the Year! 🎉
Ms. Cox has been a shining star at OVCA since 2019, and with eight years of teaching experience, she has made a remarkable impact on our students and staff. Her success is a testament to the incredible teamwork at OVCA, where teachers, counselors, CFAs, Special Services, administration, and the school board come together to support every student.
Head of School Audra Plummer perfectly captures why Ms. Cox stands out: “From the day she began teaching, Janelle has put her students first, realizing each one is different and there’s no one-size-fits-all to how they learn. She truly builds relationships with her students and works to create a culture where they enjoy learning and achieve their highest potential.”
Ms. Cox herself shares, “I’m honored to receive this award as a proponent of virtual education and the many benefits online learning provides students. As both a teacher and parent of a student at OVCA, I’m driven each day by the heart and passion it takes to make a difference in even just one student’s life. That philosophy has driven me and inspires me each day. I’m blessed by teaching alongside a community of strong educators who make me better.”
Join us in celebrating Ms. Janelle Cox’s incredible achievement! Her dedication, passion, and commitment to putting students first inspire us all. Here’s to many more years of making a difference together at OVCA. 🥳
