High School Courses at OVCA Are NCAA-Approved

We’re proud to announce that credit-bearing high school courses at Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy (OVCA) are officially approved by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA).
OVCA caters to a broad community of learners through engaging, personalized online learning. With NCAA-approved courses, student-athletes can prepare to meet the academic requirements for college sports.
Preparing Students for Academic and Athletic Success
Approved high school courses at OVCA meet the high academic standards set by the NCAA, ensuring that student-athletes are prepared for the rigor of college coursework and meet the academic requirements for NCAA eligibility.
Reaching NCAA eligibility ensures your child can compete in collegiate sports and receive athletic scholarships and financial aid.
The NCAA’s eligibility requirements are:
- Graduate from high school
- Complete a minimum of 16 approved NCAA core courses
- Earn a minimum GPA in core courses
- Earn a qualifying test score on the SAT or ACT
- Request a final amateurism certification from the NCAA Eligibility Center
There are additional requirements for Division I student-athletes.
Flexible Online Learning for Student-Athletes
Beyond NCAA-approved courses, OVCA offers student-athletes the flexibility to practice and train. While most classes are synchronous, our students are empowered to learn anywhere, anytime, as long as they have an internet connection.
We also help student-athletes manage their time effectively to balance both athletics and academics. Nevertheless, our Oklahoma-certified teachers always provide support, instruction, and guidance to ensure students stay on track for graduation.
