OVCA names Tracie Grunewald District Teacher of the Year

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy (OVCA) has named high school math teacher Tracie Grunewald as its 2025 District Teacher of the Year. Grunewald, who began teaching at OVCA in 2016, is a passionate advocate of virtual education and a respected voice among her peers.
Over the years, Grunewald has championed OVCA’s mission inside and outside the classroom. From supporting students’ academic and personal growth to recruiting fellow educators, she has built a reputation for her commitment to student success and school pride.
Head of School Audra Plummer praised Grunewald’s continuous efforts to OVCA’s students, families and staff.
“Tracie leads with heart,” said Plummer. “Her enthusiasm for education and her belief in her students is truly inspiring. She helps students reach their goals in addition to lifting up her peers through collaboration and support.”
