OVCA Calls on Students to Become Green Heroes with ASEZ STAR’s “Green School” Program 🌎🌱

By: Zo’Koria Clanton
Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy (OVCA) is excited to encourage students to step up as Earth-saving heroes by participating in ASEZ STAR’s “Green School” program! This inspiring initiative shows how small, everyday actions can add up to make a big impact in reducing carbon dioxide emissions and protecting the planet.
The program makes sustainability fun and easy by introducing simple steps like:
- Turning off the lights 💡 – When we leave a room, we can save energy and pretend we’re ninjas sneaking out without a trace!
- Unplugging devices 🔌 – Say goodbye to “power gobblers” and conserve energy.
- Using a cup when brushing teeth 🦷 – Fill up a cup instead of leaving the water on and become a water-saving wizard!
- Turning off the faucet while scrubbing hands 🚿 – Every drop counts.
- Sorting recyclable trash ♻️ – Sort bottles and cans like treasure – this saves CO₂ and keeps things clean!
- Reducing food waste 🍎 – Take only what you’ll eat to become a food-saving champion.
- Using a handkerchief or reusable items 🌱– Save trees and reduce waste.
Imagine the difference we can make as we incorporate these habits into our daily lives. Each action helps reduce CO₂ emissions, and by participating, OVCA students are turning small actions into a collective movement – together.
It’s a fun, team-driven mission to build lasting habits that help the environment – all while turning OVCA into a proud “Green School!”
