Celebrating Autumn at the OVCA Fall Festivals

On October 4th, OVCA students, along with their friends and family, gathered for the much-anticipated annual Fall Festival. This year’s event was a delightful blend of educational activities, creative fun, and community spirit, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.
Exploring Pumpkinville at Myriad Botanical Gardens
The day kicked off with interactive tours through the enchanting Pumpkinville at Myriad Botanical Gardens. Students were amazed by the sight of 30,000 gourds artistically arranged to create a festive autumn atmosphere. The tours were not only visually stunning but also educational, offering insights into different types of plants. From story time sessions that sparked their imagination to majestic art creation and even a fun hair salon experience, there was something for everyone.
Fun and Learning at The Gathering Place
The festivities moved to The Gathering Place in Tulsa, where students engaged in a variety of grade-level activities. The Gathering Place provided a perfect setting for students to learn and play, with activities tailored to different age groups.
Virtual Fun in the K12 Zone
For those who couldn’t attend in person, the K12 Zone offered a fantastic virtual option. Students participated in a range of engaging activities from the comfort of their homes, including story time, a scavenger hunt, Kahoot quizzes, Just Dance sessions, and even adopting a virtual pet. This ensured that everyone could join in the fun, no matter where they were.
Giving Back with the S.O.A.R Program
A highlight of the festival was the OVCA S.O.A.R program’s book giveaway. Thanks to generous donations, students were able to take home books, encouraging a love for reading and learning. This initiative was a wonderful way to support students’ educational journeys and promote literacy within the community.
Family Testimonials
Sunny Pierson: “Field trips with OVCA are always a blast and a half! I love that we’re permitted to bring our other kids, too, because OVCA offers a world of enrichment that my brick and mortar students don’t receive. I can’t wait to transition them in, too. This trip was fun, educational, and so memorable. I can’t wait for the next!”
A Day to Remember
