OVCA Staff


Michelle Scionti is the Director of Shared Services for both Insight School of Oklahoma and Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy. She has been working with the ISOK/OVCA teams and students since 2015 in a variety of roles. She started teaching in 2001 and has had the pleasure of serving many different students in her different teaching roles. She transitioned out of teaching to administration in 2013 and loves supporting the teachers and staff that have the direct impact on student academic learning and growth. She also has a heart for the social emotional well-being of all children, and loves being in a field that can create a positive and supportive climate for them. She has a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Communications and Spanish and a master's degree in Education. She loves that she gets to match her education and training to support all students every day.


Leah Allen is Community Engagement Specialist for elementary and middle school. She is a 2014 University of Central Oklahoma graduate. She obtained her master’s degree in Education from UCO in 2017. She began her teaching career at Oklahoma Centennial Mid-High School in Oklahoma City, and moved to OVCA in 2019.

Morgan Anglin is the Related Services Clerk. She started with K12 in 2013 as the Enrollment Coordinator and has also served as the Related Services Coordinator.

Rhonda Bellah has been part of the OVCA/ISOK team since July 2015. She currently serves as the Encumbrance Clerk for ISOK and Shared Services. She also handles immunization and transcript compliance for both ISOK and OVCA.

Anika Carr is the supervisor of school-based enrollment.

Lisa Cottrell is the Flex teacher for grades K-12 and Flex Program Coordinator. Lisa Cottrell began working in education in 2008 and began working at Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy in 2015 as a 7th grade English Teacher. She holds certifications as Elementary Principal, Middle Level English, Early Childhood Education, and Elementary Education. Lisa holds a Master of Education in Literacy and is currently working towards a Doctor of Education in Leadership with an emphasis on virtual education.

Kerry Frank is the Transition Coordinator for both ISOK and OVCA. She grew up in the Greater St.Louis area and spent most of her youth around aerospace and engineering.

Angie Foust holds a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Newman University and a Master's degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Emporia State University. She has over 20 years of experience in education, having taught students ranging from grades 1–12 in three different states over the course of her career. She joined OVCA in 2009 as a teacher and moved into the high school principal position in 2011. Angie Foust transitioned into the Compliancy Coordinator position in January of 2015 and also serves as the Title IX Coordinator.

Lora Howell is the Related Services Coordinator. She began working for OVCA in 2015.  She supports the therapists and case managers in providing those related services.

Aisha Gaines has served as the High School Registrar for OVCA since August 2020. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in May of 2019. 2020 was her first year in Secondary Education after being in Early Childhood Education for around 4 years. She really enjoys getting to know the students and parents of OVCA. Do not hesitate to contact me regarding high school needs!

Tristen Kimball has been with OVCA since October 2015 and is currently serving as the Special Education Registrar. Before joining OVCA, she worked in child care for 10 years. Tristen enjoys helping children learn and watching them grow. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her friends and family.

Kim Lynam has been with OVCA and ISOK since 2014. She currently works as Testing Coordinator for both schools to ensure all state-mandated testing is conducted to ensure student growth and success.

Katie McAskill is the College and Career Coordinator and has been with K12 since 2014 with over 20 years working in education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Oklahoma Panhandle State College, and a Master of Agriculture from Oklahoma State University. Katie has taught high school agriculture education and worked in post-secondary and high schools to help students with college and career planning.

Ryan McDonald is currently the School Data and Accountability Manager. He joined the team in September 2014, and has been both the Enrollment Coordinator/Office Manager and the Assistant Operations Manager during his time with the school. Ryan earned his BS in Psychology, with a Minor in Philosophy, from Oklahoma State University in December of 2009. Previously, Ryan collected workplace injury and illness data for the Oklahoma Dept. of Labor and also worked on the 2010 US Census.

Heather Miles is the Instructional Administrator at OVCA. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. She taught third and fourth grade in brick and mortar before making the transition to OVCA. In her eight years with K12, she has served as a MS Language Arts teacher, MS PE teacher, MS lead teacher, School Data & Accountability Manager, and spent a year with the K12 Data Team. Her certifications include Elementary Education, Mid-Level English, PE, and Elementary Principal.

Melissa Mphande is the Office Manager for OVCA and ISOK, having worked for the schools since 2018. She has a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. She taught in brick and mortar schools for a couple of years prior to joining OVCA and ISOK.

Kristen Moore started as the Encumbrance Clerk for OVCA in 2019. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations from Oklahoma State University. She has worked in education since 2017.

Chris Pitts is the Senior Manager of School Operations for OVCA and ISOK. He has spent 9 of 14 years in education with K12 schools, serving in roles including Learning Coach for his children that attended OVCA, History Teacher, and OVCA High School Principal. He has an Associate of Arts in History from the Oklahoma City Community College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master of Education degree in Instructional Leadership & Academic Curriculum from OU..

Danielle Shaw is the Special Education Compliancy Coordinator.

Barbie Sloan is the K8 Standard Specialist. She works with teachers and administrators to help incorporate best practices. She has been with K12 since 2012, of which four yeas were spent directly with OVCA. Before joining K12, she taught for eight years in elementary schools in Oklahoma and Texas. 

Lewis Starkey is an Operations Manager who joined OVCA and ISOK in 2020.

Jill Wallace Jill Wallace serves as the district 504 Coordinator for both OVCA and ISOK.  She has been with OVCA/ISOK since 2013 and has worked in the field of education for over 14 years.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and a Master of Education degree in Guidance & Counseling from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. 

Tara Whitekiller is the Special Education Manager for Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy. She joined OVCA in 2013 as a Special Education teacher, after spending 4 years at Tahlequah Middle School. Tara earned her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University in 2009.

Holly Wyers is the Gifted and Talented Resource Coordinator and started with OVCA in 2010.  During her time at OVCA she has mainly taught journalism and English in the high school.  She earned a master’s degree in education in 2015 and completed a leadership certification program in 2018.

Katherine Young is the Senior Manager of Special Programs. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2007 with an Elementary Education degree. She has been in education since 2007 and with Oklahoma K12 schools since 2015. She started her teaching career in Ponca City as a 3rd grade teacher before moving to the elementary school Curriculum Specialist role. She was a kindergarten teacher at OVCA for two years, and the Title I Coordinator for one year.


Amanda Coyle is a School Counselor who joined OVCA in 2018.  She has been an educator for over 20 years! She was an Elementary and Middle School Classroom Teacher for various grades starting with Pre-K-8, Dyslexia Specialist, and a Small Group Reading Interventionist prior to obtaining an Educational Psychology with an emphasis on School Counseling Master's Degree at Texas A&M in College Station, TX.  She loves learning and helping others to become their best!

Janece Pendergrass is a high school Engagement Specialist at OVCA. She has worked for OVCA/ISOK since 2018. Her first two years with K12 she worked as a Community Family Advisor until she accepted the position Engagement Specialist in January 2020. Janece graduated from Northeastern State University in 2012 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, and 2016 with a Master's in Education from the School of Administration at NSU. She accepted a position in 2012 as a teacher and worked for Tulsa Public Schools for six years until accepting a position with K12. Janece has 20 years experience in the education field working as a paraprofessional for several school districts including Tulsa Public Schools and Nashville Public Schools. She worked as a private ABA (Applied Behavioral Therapist) for families in who lived in Tulsa, Nashville and Nashville Public Schools. In 2012 She founded a tutoring business, Teach Tulsa Kids, and continues to provided private tutoring for families in the Tulsa area.

Temple Pitts is an OVCA High School Engagement Specialist. She has two Bachelor’s degrees from UCO.  They are in Forensic Science and Applied Liberal Arts with focus in Photography.  She has been with OVCA since 2018. She recently started working on eSports for the school, and sometimes she photographs Prom and Graduation.

Sandra Powell is the High School Graduation coach. She joined OVCA in 2010, first as a High School teacher then transitioning into the Middle School Principal for six years. She served for two years as the Regional Engagement Principal. She has more than 25 years of educational experience in both private and public schools in Indiana and Oklahoma. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with majors in biology, chemistry and a minor in physical science from the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana and holds a Master's Degree in Curriculum Design and Development from Grand Canyon University.

Jenn Preston began working as a School Counselor with OVCA in 2018. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master's of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy. She has been working as a school counselor for over 9 years, serving students from Kindergarten to college in a variety of school settings.  She loves helping students find their passion and build dreams for the future!

Raeshelle Sharpnack is the Family Resource Coordinator for OVCA who brings more than 25 years of social services experience with some of those years in education.  Raeshelle earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Oral Roberts University, and a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Nazarene University.

Hailey Thomas is the Lead School Counselor at OVCA. She has an M. Ed. in School Counseling and a B.A. in Psychology both from Northeastern State University. She started with OVCA in 2018, and has worked as a high School Counselor for nearly a decade. Before becoming a School Counselor, she worked as a Juvenile Probation and Parole Officer for the State of Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs. She lives in Muskogee with her husband and 2 young children. What Hailey loves most about working for OVCA is the flexibility it affords both her and the students and families she serves.

Rachel Thomas is the certified school psychologist for OVCA and ISOK.  She joined in 2017.  She has over 11 years’ experience working as a school psychologist.  She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She obtained her Ed.S., M.S., and B.S. degrees from Oklahoma State University.

April White a School Counselor who joined the OVCA team in 2014.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master’s degree in Guidance & Counseling from the University of Central Oklahoma.  She has over 17 years of experience in education, working in Oklahoma and Ohio.  She's enjoyed working as a special education teacher, transition specialist and school counselor throughout her career.  April White has a passion for education and enjoys helping and encouraging students to be their best as they navigate through school and plan for their future.

Kyra Williams-Garcia is a Community Engagement Specialist who started at OVCA in 2020. This is her first role directly in education. She has a Master of English and Creative Writing, and will graduate in 2022 with a Master of Arts in Social Justice and Ethics.
