‘Equal Opportunities’: Bill Seeks To Open School Activities to Charter Students

During School Choice Week, advocates are pushing for expanded extracurricular opportunities for charter and virtual charter school students in Oklahoma. State Sen. Ally Seifried has introduced Senate Bill 388, which would allow these students to participate in interscholastic activities in their resident districts. Audra Plummer, head of Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy, supports the bill, emphasizing its role in fostering personal growth and scholarship opportunities. Lawmakers will consider the proposal when the legislative session resumes on February 3.
