OVCA has some specific requirements that are important for you to note before you get started:
Start-Up Success Sessions
The Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy hosts mandatory Start-Up Success Sessions for all new applicants. The Start-Up Success Session is strongly recommended to be attended in-person by the parent and/or legal guardian of every student enrolling in grades K-12; however, they are offered virtually for those that cannot attend in-person. Attendance will be required before a student is approved.
The in-person session will last approximately one hour. At the session, OVCA staff will welcome you to the event. They will collect any enrollment paperwork if you would like to bring it in-person. The first 15 minutes will focus on the non-negotiable expectations and policies for both an OVCA student and Learning Coach. Then the remaining time will focus on providing support in areas such as computer training and creating student schedules, as well as time for questions and answers.
A full schedule of these sessions can be found by visiting the Parent Portal.
4. Complete Any Next Steps
All prospective families will participate in a pre-approval telephone conference with an Enrollment Consultant. You may also have additional pre-approval actions depending on your student's individual situation. If this applies to you, you will be notified and instructed on how to complete them.
5. Receive Official Approval
Upon successful completion of the enrollment process, your student will be approved. Please check your email for important information regarding your student's approval and how to access the Online School.
Thanks for your interest in Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy! We look forward to you and your family joining our school community soon.
